Fantastic calculator!, 04 Jun 2008
I bought this calculator when taking A-level maths and am now using it for my mechanical engineering degree. In comparison to other similarly priced calculators on the market, this is by far the easiest to use and has plenty of fuctions which again are simple to use.
The screen too is excellent (much larger than the Casio equivalent) which is very helpful when doing large calculations and plotting graphs.
All in all a great calculator at every level
excellent calculator!, 27 Jan 2007
I bought this calculator through my college, for Maths A levels. Its widely used by everybody and there is never a bad word said.
It has all the functions needed, plus lots more. I have not used half of the functions. It does have the keyboard which flips, which makes it easier to use for basic functions, or the more advanced side for more functions.
It has a nice big screen, which is very clear. Instructions are detailed.
If anybody was doing Maths or Further Maths A level i would highly recommend. And its also suitable for school or university.

I bought this calculator for my Open University M248 statistics course but it would be a perfect calculator for any level of maths. Starting with its basic functions and then switching to advanced. I only use the advanced keyboard but I have experimented with the basic keyboard - it is not designed to alternate, you choose the level you need, and this is clear in the instructions.
The large screen means you can easily see what you have entered already so you can check and correct. You can enter and view fractions as fractions. It 'understands' formulas without entering lots of brackets (for example 3+4x2 will give the answer 11 not 14, very convenient when entering long formulas).
It has all the statistics functions and graphs that I need.
Most things I need are no more than 2 key depressions away.
The manual is comprehensive and clear.
There are some design changes I would make, some shortcuts to my regular formulas, but at the price nothing touches it.
Don't buy this calculator!, 15 Mar 2006
Learn from my mistake and do not buy this calculator.
The problem is with the changeable keyboard. If the keyboard is moved at all, easy enough to do when you are pressing on the keys, the calculator resets the memory. This is a really bad thing to have happen when in the middle of a statitics exam - basically you have to start your entire calculation over again.
So while it is a good idea it is not dependable. Mine resets itself about 1 out of every 10 times I use it. At home that is simply annoying, during an exam it is simply inexcusable.
Essential for Algebra students, 10 Mar 2006
This junior scientific calculator is perfect for students working in the areas of algebra. The calculator contains a 50 digit memory, as opposed to the small amount of digits that one can input into a normal calculator. The calculator itself is quite durable, not including its plastic cover that is completely sure to break off immediately in a classroom environment. With the exception of the case, this calculator is an absolute must have, and thanks to its price, it can be bought in large quantities for a classroom for a low price.
