Good buy, 06 Aug 2008
Same performance as in-box battery supplied with my Canon IXUS 850IS - around 400 shots every charge.
An extra (charged)battery pack is vital accessory on long trips and tours.
Superb Price and genuine Canon product, 18 Feb 2008
This is a genuine Canon replacement and works for my 860is. Its the same as the battery that come with the camera. I was gona buy a generic battery such from other battery suplliers but they are generic and you can never be sure. For a start a lot of them didnt match the 1120mAH spec, but the prices were great.... until amazon dropped their price by £10. Its now one of the cheapest batteries for your camera, ontop of which its a canon one , whereas for this price elsewhere you get one which is generic and i didnt trust it in a £200+ camera. With free deliery you cant get a cheaper battery for your canon.
It comes "off the shelf" in the proper box they way you would see it as in a shop. Even has Canon genuine hologram on it.
A dodgy battery can destroy your camera and canon would not fix it under warranty as you have to use genuine parts, so this is the best buy by far!!!
Only battery i would recomend you buy!!!
Does what it says!, 18 Aug 2007
Bought this as a spare for my Canon Ixus 950is. Small and powerful lasting well over 200 pictures with display turned on. Good price from Amazon at the moment.

Bought this as a spare for my Canon Ixus 950is. Small and powerful lasting well over 200 pictures with display turned on. Good price from Amazon at the moment. A well advised purchase, but beware issues with high power draw computers, 10 Nov 2008
Given that these surge protectors are available at nominal cost and will protect your potentially valuable electronic equipment in the event of a power spike, these items are an obvious purchase for every household. There's not really a lot more to say, except that the build quality of the power strip seems to be high. My only issue I have found is that I sometimes have difficulty persuading my PC to boot when it is powered via the surgemaster. The problem seems to be the initial high power drawer of my NVIDIA 8800 GT graphics card. Therefore I sometimes have problems persuading my PC to boot, but since I don't reboot very often it is not really much of an issue. It was puzzling for a while though, so bear this in mind if your PC has a high-powered graphics card in it. Works great, no complaints, 16 Jan 2008
What can I say? This does the job. The unit is well constructed and has presented no problems after 6 months use. A MUST for every household....., 19 Jul 2007
well your never guess what happened..... our house got struck by lightning, the whole house shook and it wasn't good.
its lucky that i kitted my whole house out with these surge protectors no more than two months before this happened , they have more than likely saved me thousands of pounds.
so , like many others have said its one of those products that holds a question mark but i would seriously recommend that you invest in some of these, before its too late. It's stupid not to have one, 13 May 2005
Surge protectors are curious things. You have no way of knowing whether they are working. My PC didn't explode today - was that thanks to Belkin, or because there were no surges? You only ever know for sure that it isn't working, not that it is. But anyway, I have seen a PC explode during a thunder storm. I recovered, but the PC didn't. It was a few years ago, but the PC was high-spec and only 3 months old. A Belkin surge protector costs less than a pizza. Go figure. Any decent mathmetician would now point out that we should consider: [cost of PC] x [risk of exploding] vs [cost of surge protector] True, but emotionless. An exploding PC is no fun at all. For a few pounds you can avoid that (I think). So do it.
Does what it says, 15 Jan 2005
I decided to buy the Belkin Surge Protector to protect my TV, DVD player and Playstation 2 which I didn't want to get damaged as a result of the electricity supply. It's great and you really can't lose anything from this apart from 7 or 8 quid. The best part of this is the cable thing which keeps your cables all neat and tidy. And it's well better paying that than hundreds of pounds for new stuff. But on the other side you could say the likelehood of anything happening is rare. You're taking a risk if you don't buy this but it's up to you. If you don't care about your electrical goods I guess you aren't going to buy this. 9/10. John Mitchell

Rubbish for telephone/modem protection, 12 Sep 2008
According to their customer services department, Belkin used to provide a BT to BT telephone cable with this. But they don't any more. This cable is essential because you can't buy them. All you can buy is BT to RJ11 (the little one - looks like a modem plug). BUT, if you buy an RJ11 to BT adaptor to try and fix the problem, it crosses the connections, so that doesn't work, either. The only way is to either buy a BT to RJ11 crossover cable and one adaptor. Or to buy an RJ11 to RJ11 cable and TWO adaptors.
I spent a whole afternoon trying to sort this one out. Half an hour on to Belkin tech support. 20 minutes waiting for their sales dept to deal with my call (they never did). Another ten minutes onto tech support again and then finally I was given an extension number for customer services. Who said they were well aware of this problem (try telling your tech support dept about it then!) and that all I had to do was ring up and ask and they'd send me one (but it is only 1 metre long).
All pretty useless, in my opinion. It's cost me a lot of time trying to sort this out, including a trip into town to try to find a cable or adaptor. Thanks Belkin. You should be ashamed of yourselves!
Basically, if you want modem/telephone protection, don't buy this product. It doesn't work out of the box.
Works well, 30 Jul 2008
Feels solid
Works well
Plenty of space
Cable tidy
Worth it for the price
Great...but...., 08 Jul 2008
Does the job well but it's been countless times now I've hit the stupidly placed on / off switch with my foot shutting down anything that's plugged in and losing changes on the computer.
A redesign is called for with the switch in a less prominent position.
Needs More space for adapters!, 25 Jun 2008
I had a really hard time deciding how many stars to give this. Overall, I'm happy with quality. Seems solid, good warranty on it, and the insurance offered w/ it is a bonus. I like the little bar that raises up to hold in the plugs' cables, and the cool swivel-plugs are the reason I got it. The downside is just too big of an issue for me to ignore. I am a musician and have lots of adapters. Most of them are big... and it's not just music equipment, I have some normal computer speakers by creative with a huge adapter/plug thing, so I'm sure normal consumers will have this problem.
The design of this item makes it so all the adaptors face inwards (so the cables point out) but the bulk of the adaptors are at the top. So this creates space issues. Some adapters are too wide and cover neighbor plugs, or they are long and cover opposite plugs. Either way I had a stressful time trying to swap them all around to try and find a way to minimize plug loss. In the end, even witht he swivel-plugs which I thought would help, I still lost one plug (meaning I had a spare plug, which I needed but couldn't use) This was only due to poor product design. Had they added some space between the plugs, or made it wider or face the plugs the opposite way, this would have helped and I could have utilized all the plugs. In the end I had to get another extension lead and plug some extra adapters into that when I really wanted them all in one place, adn I had to compromise some of my ideas. This doesn't sound hugely inconvneient, but I wanted to plug one set of items to stay turned on, and one set that I could turn off every night, but I couldn't arranged the plugs that way due to this extension lead's poor design. I just think, why couldn't they have tested it using variable plug-scenarios in the design phase... they would have discovered the problem I'm having now. Hence the stress caused, inconvenience, and loss of one plug dropped it 2 stars for me.
So my summary is this: If you are using standard 3 pin uk plugs, not huge adapters, this product is wonderful... probably 5 stars, BUT if you are like me and have huge adapters, then skip this and find another soloution.

My desktop's headphone slot was in such an awkward place, it meant that I was not able to watch video's on it comfortably with headphones on as I had to stretch my neck in order to avoid the headphones coming off. Therefore I had a look on Amazon and found this bad boy. Now I can watch videos and listen to music with headphones easily and comfortably.
Do not use seller, 22 Sep 2008
Item is not as described b the Seller and is not made by Belkin.
Seller never responds to emails
V.Good, 22 Jul 2008
I think Belkin make pretty good stuff and this is included. good quality,
secure fit and not too bulky and it's worth the extra couple of quid.
Fine, 02 Jul 2008
Good quality, slightly long for having on my desk. It works fine and allows freedom of movement.
Use at home., 08 Apr 2008
i primarily bought this cable due to the fact that i also have sennheiser cx300 headphones and i want to use them whilst playing my drums. hoowever i dont want to use my mp3 player because it is quite big a bulky to have on me whule playing (sony vaio vgf-ap1) so i wanted to plug my headphones directly into my hi fi just next to my drum kit but the cable is too short. so i invested in this to sort that problem out. i think that if i was going to use this cable for use with my mp3 player, i would have bought a much smaller one, maybe 1m or 1.5m the cable is definately worth spending the extra money for the standard of quality and connection that it provides.

Now I can watch videos and listen to music with headphones easily and comfortably.

secure fit and not too bulky and it's worth the extra couple of quid.

Makes a huge difference., 05 Nov 2008
Recently my Mum said that her Sky+ box kept crashing. Sky has replaced numerous boxes and still they crash/fail. They are known to have cheap power supplies, which would suggest they would have no tolerance to power fluctuations. I have never ever had any trouble with my box. However my box gets its power from a Belkin PureAV Home Cinema Surge Protector, which I bought to protect my HDTV (this set up was in my Mum's house before I moved out and I had no problems). So I thought I would try one on my Mum's setup. Sure enough she hasn't experienced one problem since it went in. So they obviously do something.
FAILed to protect my equipment, 28 May 2008
This item FAILED to protect my equipment during a recent electrical storm. I now have a PC which is a brick.
Now I will be trying to find out whether the connected equipment warranty is worth the paper it is written on. I don't fancy having to send my computer off to Holland to have it inspected before they will even decide whether to pay my claim.
I think I will be looking for another equipment provider.
amazing value for money from a quality make of anti surge protection, 03 Aug 2007
Hi,
This device has excellent build quality. The darker colour hides its presence in the shadows. With the need for T.V, Freeview, DVD player and legacy video recorder just to have enough plugs is a boon, but to have 8 sockets is great. But to have surge protection and antenna protection is comforting. If you have a transformer for a device, these can physically block the adjacent plug. The nice continuation of having a swivelling socket allows a freeing of an otherwise wasted socket. When I received the device I was very pleased that these version includes an antenna cable, so I can protect the T.V. antenna straight away, magic!
These used to cost well over £48 for an 8 socket, when I last bought mine in 2000. If you have had the misfortune (2002) to suffer a lightning strike and lost major pieces of electrical equipment in the house, you tend to see these as essential equipment and replace as required. These can protect your equipment for several years even with daily usage. Finally, we are all concerned about the environment. Being able to easily turn off several devices at night with one switch encourages you to save energy.
Fantastic protection, 24 Dec 2006
It works VERY well. I am most impressed. I've got a Velodyne subwoofer, and it kept blowing the fuse on a low cost sub £15 extrension with surge protection... I wondered, but I noticed after the fuse blown a few times in the speakers power amp, that the Surge light wasn't illuminating anymore. It lasted a month or two before giving up the ghost.
However this Belkin is going stong, and has protected against any further issues with the fuses. I'm happy that this has been able to mitigate the surges in our area without any reliability concerns. Thumbs up!
Not the item displayed, 17 Jan 2006
Another good Belkin product, with top of the line surge protection, however buyer beware; the item shipped is not the item pictured. The displayed item is the US version of this product so anyone looking for satellite cable connectors, as I was, will be disappointed with the standard coaxial connectors on the UK unit. A better product fot those looking for the satellite connector is product #B0002TSU9W.

Does what it says!, 18 Aug 2007

well your never guess what happened..... our house got struck by lightning, the whole house shook and it wasn't good.
its lucky that i kitted my whole house out with these surge protectors no more than two months before this happened , they have more than likely saved me thousands of pounds.
so , like many others have said its one of those products that holds a question mark but i would seriously recommend that you invest in some of these, before its too late.
So do it.

You're taking a risk if you don't buy this but it's up to you. If you don't care about your electrical goods I guess you aren't going to buy this. 9/10. John Mitchell

Good value s-video cable. Not the cheapest available, but certainly not the most expensive, and with gold-plated plugs it works very well and is brilliant value for money.
Good cable, 07 Sep 2008
I bought this cable to connect my laptop to my TV, since my laptop has an S-Video port, so that I can get the computer screen on TV and used this setup to watch DVDs and videos from the Internet. Now I use it to connect my Freecom MP450 media player to the TV.
- The length of the cable was very useful as I could keep the laptop with me while sitting far away from the TV.
- Good quality with gold plated ends.
- Picture quality unaffected.
Really Great Product, 31 Jan 2008
Here before the delievery estimate, works well with my laptop to my LCD TV. Would advise if your doing the same ensure you have a headphone jack to AV OUT IN (Red and White) cable for sound, usually have then free with cameras etc.

So my summary is this: If you are using standard 3 pin uk plugs, not huge adapters, this product is wonderful... probably 5 stars, BUT if you are like me and have huge adapters, then skip this and find another soloution.

i primarily bought this cable due to the fact that i also have sennheiser cx300 headphones and i want to use them whilst playing my drums. hoowever i dont want to use my mp3 player because it is quite big a bulky to have on me whule playing (sony vaio vgf-ap1) so i wanted to plug my headphones directly into my hi fi just next to my drum kit but the cable is too short. so i invested in this to sort that problem out. i think that if i was going to use this cable for use with my mp3 player, i would have bought a much smaller one, maybe 1m or 1.5m the cable is definately worth spending the extra money for the standard of quality and connection that it provides.
Thumbs up!

Good, 29 Oct 2008
Would advise if your doing the same ensure you have a headphone jack to AV OUT IN (Red and White) cable for sound, usually have then free with cameras etc.
it does what it says, 27 Jul 2005
ok now to fully test this i guess you need to be struck by lightning. but to be fair my computer psu did blow out before i had this and it was down to a "surge" apparently, so since ive had this no problems.if you use your p.c. a lot buy one, sometimes its hard to tell what caused your p.c. to go down, so this will cross off one cause. plus theres like 6 plugs so its handy for your computer.
Does what it says, 23 Feb 2005
It works brilliantly i never realised the need for rotating sockets untill i bought this, now i realise just how useful that they are. It works brilliantly cut out the power to my pc during the last storm we had! a great product i will definatly buy another for my hi-fi and TV.
Belkin 6 Socket SurgeMaster, 03 Oct 2003
Having recently purchased a new computer with a Broadband connection, I wanted to ensure my equipment was protected and decided to purchase the 6 Socket SurgeMaster from Belkin. The unit itself is very well designed with colour coded LED's and two of the six sockets with a swivel function. This is extremely useful when plugging in bulky modem power supplies. The unit has sockets for your modem connection and therefore provides even more security from spikes or power surges. With an automatic £100,000 equipment protection warranty, you can be safe in the knowledge that your equipment is safe. Belkin is the market leader for these products and Amazon had one of the lowest prices all round. Highly recommended product.

Cable tidy
Worth it for the price
Great...but...., 08 Jul 2008
Does the job well but it's been countless times now I've hit the stupidly placed on / off switch with my foot shutting down anything that's plugged in and losing changes on the computer.
A redesign is called for with the switch in a less prominent position.
