Got this overnight from 'MyMemory' and it plugged straight into my system. No fuss whatsoever. I use a ASUS P4P800S-X motherboard and it is totally compatible. I will be getting another soon. Kingston are a well rated maker and this is no exception. Buy now at a great price!!

Was really easy to install, just slotted it in and started up the pc, was instantly regonised and has made a noticeable improbevemt in performance. Recommened to anyone

This is a SINGLE 1GB stick.

Just opened the case, pushed it firmly into the 184 pin DIMM slot, rebooted and was it instant recognised as extra 1GB memory.

No problems with it all.

I had been putting off getting a memory upgrade because of the messing around taking the case to bits, installing, running into problems and having to start over.... how wrong I was!

This was so easy to install, plug and play. I popped the stick into a empty slot, fastened everything up, switched on and there it was in the memory check.

after searching for the type of RAM that i needed for my laptop on crucial i noticed this kingston RAM for a good bit cheaper.

i own a bog standard macbook, i bought it in january 07 with 512 mb of RAM, sure it was rubbish but i didnt fancy forking out an extra £200 for the 1 gb model.

so when i seen that all of these reviews were from people who owned a macbook, i thought why not? now i can run multiple programs without any bother and programs like pro tools and photoshop work effortlessly.

I'm not very technologically minded, but assumed this would be ok for my desktop as reviews indicate it works on others. Sadly not mine. I've just worked out that I need a version with far fewer pins. Mea culpa, natch... but just want to remind people to check their desktop first before buying. On the plus side, I haven't tried to jam in it and blow up my motherboard!!

This item worked flawlessly after Maplins had decided to include 2 faulty sticks of 1gb memorey and as sooned as i dropped one of these items in my newly built computer was up and running.

this is highly recommend stuff by myself as ive installed about 13 of these in seperate computers and have always been spot on.

Yeh its all good and dandy but it really poops you off when it blows your motherboard up just because a connection is wrong or it dosn't fit it, well i had to buy a new motherboard because of this, so just make sure you know that this will fit first before putting it in.

I bought these RAM and set up my newly built computer. Then after turning on.... all of a sudden it just froze... even when i was looking through the bios, it froze. No matter how many times i shut it down and restarted, it always kept freezing. I had to contacted the manufacturer and they sent me working ones. :P

Wouldn't recommend!!

Virtually every modern power supply comes with a 24 pin ATX power connector. The majority of these have a detachable 4 pin connection that allows it to be converted to 20 pin and fit older mother boards.

Some new PSU's however do not have this facility. E.g. Within the new Enermax 82+ series the 425W PSU does have a detachable section, but the 525W & 625W versions do not (as I've recently found out). To use one of these power supplies with an older format motherboard this adaptor is necessary.

I believe a number of the new larger power supplies are not backwards compatible with 20 pin motherboards. Of course it's unlikely that a system based around an old 20 pin board would need the amount of power supplied by one of these PSU's. However, in my case I've bought the PSU, to replace a failed one, with a view to upgrading the rest of the system in around a years time. Hence this adaptor will come in handy in the meantime.

This is essential for me to upgrade my system in the timescales I want using the components I want.

If your motherboard only takes the 20pin adapter then dont worry about buying the 24pin adapter, as with all new power supply's the 24pin end has the option to clip off the extra 4pins.
Now if you've got a 24pin motherboard and a 20pin power supply then yes you will need a power supply adapter. Please if anyone reads this and disagrees and knows for a fac its wrong, then let me know as ive been running all my newly built pcs without the adapter and yet to have a problem.

Got this overnight from 'MyMemory' and it plugged straight into my system. No fuss whatsoever. I use a ASUS P4P800S-X motherboard and it is totally compatible. I will be getting another soon. Kingston are a well rated maker and this is no exception. Buy now at a great price!!

This is a SINGLE 1GB stick.

Just opened the case, pushed it firmly into the 184 pin DIMM slot, rebooted and was it instant recognised as extra 1GB memory.

No problems with it all.

I had been putting off getting a memory upgrade because of the messing around taking the case to bits, installing, running into problems and having to start over.... how wrong I was!

This was so easy to install, plug and play. I popped the stick into a empty slot, fastened everything up, switched on and there it was in the memory check.

after searching for the type of RAM that i needed for my laptop on crucial i noticed this kingston RAM for a good bit cheaper.

i own a bog standard macbook, i bought it in january 07 with 512 mb of RAM, sure it was rubbish but i didnt fancy forking out an extra £200 for the 1 gb model.

so when i seen that all of these reviews were from people who owned a macbook, i thought why not? now i can run multiple programs without any bother and programs like pro tools and photoshop work effortlessly.

I didn't want to rate this (I'm sure it's fine) as it isn't compatible with my desktop, so I don't know whether it works or not: Amazon won't give me that choice. I'm not very technologically minded, but assumed this would be ok for my desktop as reviews indicate it works on others. Sadly not mine. I've just worked out that I need a version with far fewer pins. Mea culpa, natch... but just want to remind people to check their desktop first before buying. On the plus side, I haven't tried to jam in it and blow up my motherboard!!

This item worked flawlessly after Maplins had decided to include 2 faulty sticks of 1gb memorey and as sooned as i dropped one of these items in my newly built computer was up and running.

this is highly recommend stuff by myself as ive installed about 13 of these in seperate computers and have always been spot on.

Yeh its all good and dandy but it really poops you off when it blows your motherboard up just because a connection is wrong or it dosn't fit it, well i had to buy a new motherboard because of this, so just make sure you know that this will fit first before putting it in.

But it is cheap

I bought these RAM and set up my newly built computer. Then after turning on.... all of a sudden it just froze... even when i was looking through the bios, it froze. No matter how many times i shut it down and restarted, it always kept freezing. I had to contacted the manufacturer and they sent me working ones. :P

Wouldn't recommend!!

Virtually every modern power supply comes with a 24 pin ATX power connector. The majority of these have a detachable 4 pin connection that allows it to be converted to 20 pin and fit older mother boards.

Some new PSU's however do not have this facility. E.g. Within the new Enermax 82+ series the 425W PSU does have a detachable section, but the 525W & 625W versions do not (as I've recently found out). To use one of these power supplies with an older format motherboard this adaptor is necessary.

I believe a number of the new larger power supplies are not backwards compatible with 20 pin motherboards. Of course it's unlikely that a system based around an old 20 pin board would need the amount of power supplied by one of these PSU's. However, in my case I've bought the PSU, to replace a failed one, with a view to upgrading the rest of the system in around a years time. Hence this adaptor will come in handy in the meantime.

This is essential for me to upgrade my system in the timescales I want using the components I want.

If your motherboard only takes the 20pin adapter then dont worry about buying the 24pin adapter, as with all new power supply's the 24pin end has the option to clip off the extra 4pins.
Now if you've got a 24pin motherboard and a 20pin power supply then yes you will need a power supply adapter. Please if anyone reads this and disagrees and knows for a fac its wrong, then let me know as ive been running all my newly built pcs without the adapter and yet to have a problem.
