Brilliant replacement for bog-standard Dell mouse, 14 Nov 2008
The Dell mouse that came with our PC became arthritic all too quickly. Single clicks kept turning into double clicks. Whatever we did, something stuck and we got an action we didn't want.
I searched Amazon for 'USB mouse' and found this one. It's brilliant. The slim shape is fine for someone like me with thin fingers. It is ultra-responsive - indeed, I had to get used to how fast it moved! It is also equally good for left-handers such as myself.
If I have one criticism, it is that when I installed the downloadable SetPoint software from Logitech's site, it automatically reset the buttons to right-handed (I had reversed them in Windows Control Panel). Having corrected that, there was a further problem on shutting down Vista. SetPoint then lost the left-handed settings when the 'Save and Quit' option came up in Firefox 3. I ended up disabling SetPoint. It's no great loss, just don't bother with it.
But apart from that, I cannot fault it. Highly recommended. A remarkable bargain.
Great mouse and great service from Amazon, 14 Nov 2008
This is a fantastic product at a bargain price. The mouse is comfortable to use and the downloadable software makes customising the buttons and other functions easy. It's a good weight and the laser technology works perfectly. If you currently use a 'ball' mouse or even an optical one, I recommend you upgrade to one of these. You'll certainly notice the difference and for under a tenner, it's a bargain!
I ordered this after 2100 on 11/11/08 using free super saver delivery. it was dispatched on the 12th and arrived on the 14th. Superb service from Amazon and Royal Mail.
Good Mouse, 29 Oct 2008
Looked around for a reasonably priced mouse that worked with vista operating system, have now been using this for the past couple of weeks and if works well, can fully recommend. Read a comment that the mouse was too small but this does not seem to be the case, children also use it for various games and no complaints to date.
Dont look anywhere else for a great cheap mouse, 21 Oct 2008
i bought this mouse to play counter strike source with and ever since i purchased it nothing else comes close. If you are considering a mosue for gaming or everyday tasks i belive nothing beats the price/performance of this mouse
Perfect Mouse, 07 Oct 2008
This is a wonderful mouse! I just plugged it in and it was installed automatically within half a minute. I find it very comfortable and it is very positive and responsive to use. Highly Recommended!

Great value, unfussy product with strong design, 06 Nov 2008
I am really, really pleased with this purchase:
- completely intuitive to use
- four buttons - forwards, backwards, black (and unblack) the screen with...
- laser pointer as fourth button
- fits snugly in the hand
- no software; just plug in the USB receiver and start so...
- works on any machine
- no need even to reboot the computer
- USB receiver stored inside so you can't accidentally switch it on
- cheaper than many competitors
The only down side is that it makes me feel an idiot that I didn't buy one sooner!
Brilliantly simple!, 21 Oct 2008
I just wanted to be able to detach myself from the laptop whilst presenting to customers and teams, and this little gadget is perfect. Nothing fancy - just forwards, backwards and fade to black (plus a pointer) - but that's all you really need. It came very quickly, worked straight out of the box on any PC I plug it into (no software discs to load) and folds into itself for storage. Wish I'd got one ages ago! Highly recommended.
Thoroughly impressed, 14 Oct 2008
I bought one of these a year or so ago, it get's a LOT of use and has been 100% reliable. I've just recommended one to a colleague, it really is a good bit of kit.
Excellent, 11 Oct 2008
Simple to use, not cluttered with too many functions. Forward, Back, Stop. That's all you need for Presentations. The only other control is the laser pointer.
The receiver fits into the handset and cuts off the battery while in there, saving your batteries. The shape is perfect so you can maintain a loose grip and move around freely. It sits in your palm, just in the right place. Also the underside is made of a material that is non-slip if you put it down on a surface and also doesn't accumulate sweat (yes, its a problem in long presentations!)
Also the supplier I got it from delivered (via normal post) in less than 24 hours despite stating 2 to 5 days. All in all, great.
Does exactly what it says on the tin!, 01 Jul 2008
I do a lot of presentations with my job, and wanted a reliable & simple means of controlling Powerpoint etc remotely. This does the job perfectly.
It's plug & Play (both on my XP machine, and also my MacBook) and has controls to enable you to: -
1. Move forward (i.e. page down in PPT)
2. Move backward (i.e. page up in PPT)
3. Blank the screen (i.e. pressing B in PPT)
4. Fire the laser pointer
It fits nicely into the hand, too, and the USB receiver stick clicks into the body of the handset for easy storage. Obviously it works for other applications, too, and not just Powerpoint. It just emulates the keypresses shown above, so you can view PDFs, Word docs etc in the same way.
All in all, an excellent bit of kit.

The best entry level graphics tablet around, 05 Nov 2008
I've had graphics tablets before, but this is by far the best entry-level tablet I have ever used. It was easy to install and set up and I was able to adjust the settings to give me the exact functionality I wanted without reading the manual. I am very pleased indeed with the ease with which it can be used and the substantial gains I get in speed and accuracy over a mouse and also over other tablets - I can get an illustration or animation complete in half the time. I have had the tablet for nearly a year now and it is still working perfectly.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who would like to try a tablet for the first time and to anyone else who would like a really decent basic tablet at a very good price. It's great - a really super piece of kit!
Bamboo? I think you mean WOOHOO!, 27 Oct 2008
I'm a graphic designer working mostly in vector design, so in adobe illustrator. Recently I have been getting more and more into Photoshop, and I had bought a tablet about 3 years ago maybe a little more, it was the small £20 Trust tablet. What a mistake that was...
I struggled by with the trust, until I completely abandoned it. I really wanted the flexibility of working with the tablet, but knew I wouldn't really use it enough to justify the larger price tags.
So being a tightwad I struggled by with my mouse, while entering endless competitions to try and win a tablet of decent quality. Knowing that Wacom were the industry standard I stumbled across the Bamboo and decided to take a chance. The price was unbelievable, and as the industry leader I thought that it must be a solid enough option for me to use on a daily basis.
When I received the Bamboo, being a designer I enjoyed the packaging first... Inspecting the product the tablet itself is very solid; it grips very well to the desk. As one review said, the surface isn't completely smooth, but I feel this gives a little friction that helps you rather than hinders. That said, it runs very, very smoothly.
The pen is extremely light, and at first it does feel a little cheap, but once you start using it its very comfortable to hold and works very well indeed. The buttons do seem a little breakable on the pen, if you hold the pen up in the right angle you can almost get the buttons to fall out a little, they don't really have a great button feel either. But again they do work well.
The software provided is brilliant, art rage, although it isn't Photoshop, is great for non-pro and my kids love playing on it. (Yes the tablet is sturdy enough to let the kids have a go!)
Bamboo Scribe is an handwriting recognition alternative to your keyboard, and it works really well - even with my scrawl and spelling problems - although for long documents, and this review, the keyboard is still king.
You also get a voucher to download 1 free software package, although I have not looked into that yet, I think its a choice of 2 packages of software. There is another voucher for 50% off a software package as well.
In Photoshop the pen pressure works wonderfully, and the pen is accurate and a joy to use. Obviously there is no tilt detection that you would get on more expensive models, but for what I need, tilt is not needed...
If you have never used a tablet and want to get one to start you on your way, get this one. If you are a graphic designer and would like to start using a tablet, this is also a great place to start. If you use a large tablet in work or have used one of the higher priced ones before, you might find this one a little disappointing - but it would be great for a cheap portable alternative.
This is a very strong product, and a steal for the price. Get it.
Hope this has helped...

Excellent piece of kit, 14 Sep 2008
This is a really good addition to a graphcis programme (I design and make greetings cards), which is why I bought it - but it is so much more useful than that! It replaces a conventional mouse in a very user friendly way and is a lot more comfortable to use too. If only it could make a cup of coffee......?! Easy to set-up and customise - it really is a 'Plug and play'. The Artrage software that comes bundled with it is a cute little programme - good for kiddies and adults. All-in-all great value for money and as usual Amazons service was brilliant.
Not that small, 14 Aug 2008
I bought this initially to plug into my ASUS - Eee PC 701 4G blue (UK version) (I know it's supposed to be a challenge to get it working on Linux). The A6 size seemed perfect for mobile computing but the actual tablet is quite a bit bigger (195 x 197 x 11 mm). Don't fancy lugging it around so it's on my home PC running XP. Using it as a mouse was a bit awkward at the start. The mouse mode was all over the shop so I kept it in pen mode but you have to move your hand to get at the lower right portion of the screen. Changing the tracking area on the tablet solves this but when you come to drawing you'll want to change it back for more precision. Works perfectly, does the job, could have been more portable.
Do you already have a GRAPHICS PROGRAM?, 05 Jul 2008
Great first Tablet BUT, if you already have a graphics program I would consider the regular Bamboo. It only comes with trial software, but looks like it might be a slightly better product (it has a stand, and navigation buttons?)
This is the advice that I wish I'd had!
However, if you are looking for a package with a simple fun graphic program then this one is for you! :)
It's really a lovely little product, and so much better than a mouse!

Excellent - Buy one !, 31 Oct 2008
I bought mine through a local dealer ( not any fault of Amazon ) but I am very impressed with this mouse and how it performs.
I have it connected to my HP laptop 17" widescreen and it flits acrosss the screen with little movement from my hand.
It is bug enough that it doesn't make your hand hurt but small enough to tuck into a side pocket on your laptop bag.
Fantastic product Buy one now !
A design triumph, 20 Oct 2008
I never thought I'd describe a mouse as beautiful - but this is a lovely thing.
Getting it set up could hardly be easier. Insert battery (supplied); insert neat little USB receiver into a USB port in your computer; and you're away. If you have a Mac, as I do, and you want to maximise your use of the mouse by configuring it, then you should also insert the DVD and follow the simple instructions. Again, this takes a moment and is a doddle.
Although designed for easy transport with a laptop it sits nicely under the hand and isn't too small. The controls are clear, definite and precise. And it feels well made.
Why not 5 stars? Two tiny gripes: I have USB ports on both sides of my laptop, and it only responds to the USB on the same side as the mouse, which is very slightly limiting. And second, our desk has a glass top which it doesn't like. We have had to get a mouse mat - which I'd prefer not to have, but hardly a deal breaker.
Mac users may be interested to know that we got this because my wife was getting arthritic symptoms in her thumb from sustained use of the MacBook Pro trackpad. Problem now solved.
Strongly recommended - and great value.
Great mouse, battery life not as good as claimed, 16 Oct 2008
All the positive feedback you see on other reviews I would agree with. The only thing is the battery life: I use it 8 hours a day and a brand new set of Duracells went flat in 6 weeks, not the claimed 6 months.
Other than that I can't fault it. But then what did I expect when I use it flat out all day every day.
Perfect MacBook Pro companion, 11 Oct 2008
I purchased this mouse after seeing a fellow Flickr members photograph. I've recently purchased a MacBook Pro and wanted a good mouse to go with it as mice are easier to use for designing and such. This mouse is absolutely amazing. The receiver looks tiny in images and it really is! As others have stated you can easily leave it in a spare USB port and not bother taking out. The Logitech control panel for Mac OS X is beautiful, simple and easy to use. You can customise the extra buttons and control Expose with the mouse. I booted into Windows via BootCamp and although I haven't installed the Logitech software in Windows yet, the mouse worked fine.
The mouse is tiny but it feels comfortable in my hand and although I've not had it long, I've had no problem with cramps or anything as of yet. I also loved how you can place the tiny receiver into the mouse when you're not using it. It is an EXTREMELY useful feature as you can take your mouse to another computer, a friends house and NOT lose the receiver, which wouldn't be hard as it's so tiny. Not only that but you get a sweet little carry pouch to protect the mouse. PERFECT.
I can't think of anything cons about this mouse...
I can't recommend this mouse enough, it's an amazing little mouse and for a bargain price - it makes the perfect MacBook companion! I've paid £40 for a BT Apple mouse before and that was rubbish (no scroll or even right click) and that is nowhere near as good as this mouse. More expensive isn't always better!
superb product!, 06 Oct 2008
bought this product on the 4th n arrived on the 6th! looks brilliant with a sleek design n no excessive buttons! plugged into a free USB port n worked instantly! the receiver is very miniature n easily storable in the battery compartment!
the middle button is especially good as it has 2 modes, 1 for free scrolling n the other for controlled scrolling!
all in all, an excellent item however dont use the software bundled as its SetPoint v4.4, not v4.6, which is outdated!
keep up the good work, Logitech!

I Am Very Glad With This Mouse, 27 Sep 2008
I got this mouse for my laptop because my touch pad kept on freezing.
And I have to say it's not something i am going to regret anytime soon.
It's quite, the roller is not stiff, you don't need to shove it. It's a very attractive well designed mouse.
Overall 5/5

Perfect for Media Computers, 17 Nov 2008
I actually bought this about a year ago and I have never had any issues with it. It works flawlessly, its responsive, light and robust (my little ones have thrown it around many times!)
I use it with a Mac Mini, and I just plugged in the USB dongle and it found the keyboard within seconds - the keyboard layout is for PC but its not a big issue.
I would definitely recommend this as your keyboard for a media pc.
Keysonic , 15 Nov 2008
After i bought this item,i really feel easy to do my job with this key board with touch pad.installation is easy.realy worth for the price, and also same size as laptop key pad.frequecy is fine.
Ideal for media PC, 13 Nov 2008
Bought this to use with a media centre PC. Great bit of kit ! Lightweight (yet still has a quality feel) keys and track pad very responsive. Just for fun I tried to see how far away from the receiver I could get - managed to get over 60ft away from PC and it was still responding happily!
Excellelent when it works, 10 Nov 2008
This keyboard works really well, wireless signal is also very good. But mine stopped working within a month and I got a replacement one now. Don't know the reason why it stopped working but as I said it's excellent when it's working.
Great gadget - Windows 'VISTA' COMPATIBLE!!!!, 08 Nov 2008
I have a 37" Philips TV and Dell Inspiron Laptop computer running VISTA... yes VISTA!!!! I put this on my 'wishlist' for my birthday by mistake and it just arrived today!
I Plugged in the USB stick, waited 1 min and it self-installed the driver software. I put the batteries in the keyboard and pressed the little button on the USB stick and off i went 2 minutes later... well... to be honest, it didn't even take 2 minutes, it was less.
I use a regular HDMI cable bought from Amazon to link the laptop to the TV. You can get decent ones for less than £4 on here now! The picture quality is great!
Yes... i did get the problem of numbers typing when i pressed certain letters, but that was resolved by someone putting in their review the following - PRESS THE "FN" KEY, HOLD THIS DOWN AND THEN PRESS THE "NumLK" KEY and your problem is fixed!!!
Amazing little gadget and well impressed with it. There's no time delay between pressing the key and it coming up on the TV screen. My laptop is approx. 3m away from the keyboard!
I intend to play all my music and watch all my dvd's from my laptop through the TV and use this little gadget as a mobile remote!!!
Buy one and you won't be dissapointed - VISTA compatible!!!!!!!!!!

Great piece of kit!, 05 Nov 2008
I have been doing more and more design work on the PC and decided that a graphics tablet would help no end. I used to own a cheap one previously but it was not great and things have moved on.
After much searching and reading reviews I settled on the Bamboo. I have to admit I was sceptical as to the quality & performance given the next nearest tablet in the Wacom range was well over £150, but I need not have worried.
Setup/installation was a breeze (XP), the introductory lessons helpful, and the look and feel of the tablet itself very nice.
Having had it for 2 days, it has almost replaced my mouse completely. Granted I am still getting used to it, there is most definitely a learning curve, but already I've got all the clicking/dragging/scrolling down to (nearly) a fine art.
I have not used the buttons much, I guess I would have preferred some that were obviously supposed to be activated by the pen rather than the finger. The same goes for the scroll pad thing. It does work but a pen activated pad would have been more use in my opinion. That said I find that scrolling using the pen button very easy so dont see myself ever using the scroll pad in future anyway.
Ive not had problems with any software so far. Its great for graphics work in PaintShop Pro X despite not being a huge area, and I have no issues with its pressure sensitivity being too, or not sensitive enough.
For me the pen is a good size and weight (much the same as the pen I write with), and the button is well positioned for thumb operation.
All in all I have to give it a 5 because I dont feel I can knock stars off because it has features I dont much use.
The only negative thing I can say (and it's early days yet) is that your work space will take some organising to get it located just right. I'm seriously considering investing in a keyboard without numeric pad so I can bring the tablet into a better position beside the keyboard and thus reduce the stretch required. With a mouse you can just shuffle the cursor across but with a tablet (any tablet) you have to be able to comfortably reach to its far edge.
As I say, a great bit of kit!
Great Tablet for Vista, 04 Jul 2008
first off, note this tablet has an A5 sized work area, but maps itself to the screen you have (I'm using it on a 27" and its more than fine).
It has 4 customizable buttons, for ease of use I've set mine to load Firefox, MSN Mesenger, Back and Forward buttons for Web / Folder navigation.
You can pretty much map the buttons to what you want, even a series of keystrokes!
