Ideal for Flash Guns and Cameras, 28 Oct 2008
I use these for high power flash guns, portable DAB radio, digitial recording devices and anything that requires batteries to be virtually new for the equipment to work at it's best. The 'life' of the battery is not as good as a top one off the shelf but the re-charge speed is fast (an hour max) and the economics speak for itself. The only down-sides are the charger is pretty bulky if travelling, slower to charge on lower voltage through an adaptor(that is to be expected)and when not used they discharge quicker than normal. Have a few spare sets available to always keep going otherwise there is the hour wait.
Save money, 24 Apr 2008
If you worked out what it costs per unit of electricity to use disposable batteries, you'd buy rechargeables to fit all your portable power needs. These ones seem to work well.

Does its job brilliantly, 20 Aug 2008
I have only recently started playing the guitar, but have been playing other intruments for a good few years. I am pretty hopeless in trying to tune my guitar by ear, so this little tool is perfect. Plus its a two-in-one if you have a bass guitar as well.
I am not sure what the 1-star review for this product is about, I can only think that their unit was faulty or something. After tuning my guitar, all the strings ring beautifully and I repeat it every few days. A good investment for guitar player experienced or beginner.
I would recommend you reading your the instruction manual if you are new the the guitar or not sure about notes/tuning in general. Its helpful if you know which string should be what note before tuning.
Great Tuner, 05 Jul 2008
This Guitar Tuner is great I can now tune my guitars in 5 minutes.
Very easy to use, with lights telling you to tighten or loosen the strings.
Great tuner - easy to use, 01 Jul 2008
I started learning guitar in December 07 and found this simple and easy to use. Tuned my guitar in under 10 minutes without any hassle. Well worth the money. Compared to other tuners I have borrowed from friends this is by far the easiest to use. Those flashing little lights are really helpful - rather than annoying!!
VERY GOOD FOR THE MONEY, 08 May 2008
The last time i had a guitar i was 18 years old i am now 49 years old on
the 21st of may and i have had a guitar for a week and forgot how to tune
it , with this tuner it took me only 10 minits to tune it
i would recomend it for any one with a guitar

Cheap, great and worth it!, 01 Oct 2008
Being a starter, I had no idea what I was doing with one of these. Actually, It wasn't even mine - another family member bought it to have a "little play around" on it. After they abandoned it, I claimed the keyboard. I have to admit, this was a great keyboard! Prefect for starters, even someone like me that had no knowledge of musical instruments had great fun learning, playing and practising different tunes. The keyboard is also very compatible with the common keyboard stands found everywhere so there's no worry about not finding the right one! A must have for any musical person!
Incredible , 28 Jul 2008
I bought this for a little kid for Christmas, I was amazed at how fast they had progressed. Great sounds, teaching lessons, high quality.
Im so glad I bought it, it is hard to find a good prized keyboard. Worth well more than £80 and you can get it for £70 now.
fantasic !!!, 27 Jun 2008
I bought this for my wife who is just a beginner in the world of music. It's really good. Sound is awsome! The demo to learn this system is quite good as well.
it's worth buying this.
Weighted keys too?, 24 Jun 2008
More of a question than a review! I am thinking of buying this product, I am just learning to play..it says full sized keys, but, are the weighted too? Thinking they would need to be so it feels like a piano? Does one have to pay more to get such a thing?
Thoughts appreciated, thank you!

Not bad, but overpriced and unreliable, 21 Oct 2008
I have been using this model now for seven months, and apart from only getting about fifteen channels, when I thought I would get dozens as it's digital I am still quite pleased with it.But what really made me sit down and write this review is that I had to send it back today as it started playing up which does happen, (but you do get a two year warranty).Unfortunately you have to send it back to pure at your expense which is not cheap as you need to insure it as well for peace of mind. If you buy it from amazon like I did they will only exchange it within six months after which you will have to send it back to pure. Bear that in mind if you are buying one (it's a lot easier taking it back to a local store) under pures two year warranty.
So good I bought another, 19 Jun 2008
I bought one of these for my mother who lives out in the sticks where FM signal is poor. I knew that DAB signal was good as I have a set in my car which works well. She wasn't disappointed! She uses it mainly for Radio 4 and the sound fills a quite substantial kitchen, the controls are very easy to use - the simplicity for her was the killer app!
So a couple of months later, the backlight failed on my kitchen DAB, (not a Pure) so the ideal replacement.
No "Snooze" facility, 21 Mar 2008
Do I mean "Snooze facility"? I want to fall asleep at night listening to the radio and have it turn itself off after about an hour when I'm safely in the land of Nod. Not much to ask - many cheaper radios have this facility, but not the Evoke-1S. How stupid is that? The sound quality is not great, even on DAB, and there is no Tone control on this model to sharpen up the sound so it sounds quite fluffy. I'm returning it to Amazon
Overpriced rubbish., 01 Feb 2008
Very disappointed with this radio. Build quality is poor with the radio not inset to the wooden frame correctly and the sound quality is appalling. I can only liken it to listening to a normal radio with a pillow over the speaker. My old Sony FM radio knocks spots off this radio so back to Amazon it goes. Unfortunately, I was also bought the Chargepak for this radio as a Christmas present and I am unable to return this to John Lewis as more than 28 days have elapsed. Arghhh!
I would give it 0 stars if I could, 31 Jan 2008
I am truly disappointed with this, the sound quality is terrible. If you turn it up the distortion is really bad. The build quality seems good but when you look a little closer mine is inset crokedly. I brought the stereo speaker and chargepak with itso it all came to around £160.00 (not from Amazon), I am taking it all back today. The Dualit radio is far superior for sound my only problem with it is the position of the display thus I have already taken this back too. I am unable to find a DAB to suit (want one with Aux in and battery pack so I can take it in the garden). The plus side for this unit is probably only the charge pak does keep its charge for a very long time.

A great toy, 29 Dec 2007
Bought this for our 5 year old for Christmas as a cheaper version broke after a few weeks last year. She loves it. Sound is great for a toy guitar. We have a rock chick in the making!
Well worth the money!, 25 Jul 2006
I bought this guitar for my little boy's third birthday, he is autistic. He thinks this is great, he never puts it down he thinks he is a popstar. He has started to sing something he could not do before, it has helped to bring him out of his shell.
It works really well and just sounds like the real thing!

A Guitar Teachers Choice, 10 Nov 2008
Well I've been teaching and playing for a long time and this is the acoustic guitar I've always recommended. It's tough and doesn't cost so much you'll get scared to taking it anywhere to play. It's nicely built so it will be fairly easy to play. Sometime soon you'll need to get some new strings - so get them nice a light so they are easeir to play - go for 11's on the 1st string - you'll see this marked up on the string pack when you're buying - these will be marked light or super light - they make it easier to press the strings down when learning. Also a nice light pick (something like .43 mm) will ensure you strum and pick without digging in. You can go to a thicker plectrum (.73 medium) later when you can play better. And read the instructions on the tuner pack - these cheaper tuners are a bugger to use well on the first tuning, but once in tune they are easy to keep in tune.
Trust me, this is the acoustic to learn on - a well known manufacturer - well constructed (they make hundreds of thousands of these to sell all over the World) - and a nice playing action. Put some heavier bluegrass strings on it once you can play well and you've got a great guitar for a party or the beach; the knock-about guitar to compliment the expensive one you'll get sometime in the future.
Get a Steve Kaufman or Russ Barenberg Beginning Bluegrass Guitar (Guitar Books) beginners book or DVD on playing bluegrass to get you started -Steve Kaufman: Learning to Flatpick, Vol. 1 - From the Beginning [1995] (REGION 1) (NTSC) that way you'll have some intersting stuff to play and avoid books with Twinkle Twinkle or Jingle Bells. Once you can play a few chords and pick out a melody you can move on....Have a listen to Tony Rice if you want to hear what that style is like played very well.Unit of Measure Forget the sytle - this will get you playing anything. It's good stuff to get started on and you'll be playing proper songs that aren't an embarrassment.
Great for beginners, 03 Nov 2008
I am an absolute beginner to guitars. I had been planning to buy and learn how to play a guitar for ages, but kept postponing. Recently a friend of mine bought one of these packs and highly recommended it. I immediately ordered one for myself and I am quite pleased that I did it, but a bit annoyed at the same time as just after a week, the price has come down by £10.
My greatest fear was being unable to tune it, but with the electronic tuner that it comes with, tuning the guitar is a breeze. The guitar itself is good looking and seems durable.
The CD that comes with the guitar was quite useful. However, in order to do some proper learning, you either need some classes or some more instruction material.
I am quite happy that I am at least taking steps towards crossing one thing from my list of "things to do before I am 40".
Good Beginners Guitar, But..., 27 Oct 2008
As a Guitar Tutor for many years I can honestly say that every time a new pupil comes to me for Guitar Lessons carrying a Yamaha F310 I'm always very pleased. And I have no problem in awarding these little beginners Guitars the full five stars. But let me make clear to everyone as I do to all new pupils who come to me, that although these are a very good beginners Guitars, that is all they really are, nothing more, nothing less.
It has been my experience that anyone still stuck with one of these Guitars after a year or two, then that pupil has not really made proper progress in their learning of the Guitar. These Guitars really will help get you off the ground, but if you are truly serious about progressing properly on the Guitar then you should think very seriously about up-grading to a real solid-wood guitar when you come to see that you are really beginning to become more of a player then a beginner which these Guitars are solely designed for. Most good pupils with me tend to move up to the real thing within 6 months after taking their first lesson with these Guitars, and I am always delighted with that because it means that even they can see that they are starting to make real progress and that the time has now come to move up to the real thing.
As I said at the start of my review, I have no problem awarding the full five stars to these beginners Guitars, but please keep in mind that they can never be looked upon as your long-term Guitar, not if you are truly serious about learning and progressing properly on the Guitar.
Also keep in mind that if you look after your F310 well and keep it in good shape then you'll find that it'll be very easy to sell it off to someone else who is just about to take their first lesson.
So My Verdict is... A Great Little Beginners Guitar, But that's all they are, nothing more, nothing less. So Good Luck To All You New Beginners.

Great Value For Money, 30 Jul 2008
On receiving this through the post, I was amazed how stunning the guitar itself is. Quite simply you could just display the guitar in your living room and get many envious looks from your friends without actually playing it. However, the guitar's true brilliance shines through when you sit down and start to learn the basics from the DVD provided - the sound is quite amazing. The DVD is simple to use and, even better, simple to help you get up and running.
In fact, all the items are great for a beginner - the case is simple but effective, and lets you carry the guitar like a rucksack (not sure how practical that would be to get through doors though) or carry the guitar normally using the hand strap. The tuner is easy to use and makes it easy to tune your guitar yourself using the lED indicators to help you find the right tension. The spare strings are classical strings which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but may come in handy. The plectrums are simple, but effective. The stand is excellent and really does help to show off the true beauty of the guitar itself and has a handy rubber strap to hold the guitar securely in place.
All in all, great value for money, much cheaper than elsewhere and highly recommended.
Excellent guitar , 02 May 2008
This has a really nice sound and is good qaulity for the money and all the accessories are handy. Well worth the money. Recommend for beginners.

Perfect little study aid!, 01 Sep 2008
I bought this as a study help - I'm doing a Medical Administration course and use the VN2100 for medical terminology.
Love:
Its handy size, clear and easy to use, storage space, 5 folder divisions, add-on mic.
Great price too.
Perfect for my needs, couldn't ask for more!
Basic keyboard, 30 Jul 2008
I am sure I read other reviews of this keyboard, which were very complimentary, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. It has proved a basic keyboard. All the features it says it has do work, though some of the pre-recorded endings on selected styles are very "naff". My main gripe is the lack of a decent music stand on the keyboard, if you need to put up a music book or manuscript. I have tried all sorts of things to help the music stand up, not least pegs or paper clips. It is very frustrating when the music falls down mid-way through playing! I suppose I should have gone for something grander!
Good Keyboard, 23 Feb 2008
Good keyboard this. I am pleased with this. Nice sounds and is touch sensitive. Each of the buttons double or even treble-up to give multiple options.
MIDI cable I got elsewhere not the official Yamaha one as that is too expensive.

Hopeless, 04 Apr 2008
Lights flash at random with absolutely no correlation with pitch. Don't waste your money.
Power supply included!, 22 Oct 2008
The description of this item says that it doesn't have a power supply, but it DOES! Don't waste £7 on another adapter like me!
